  1. I live in Essen Ger and yes it was a good thing but the cost is out of control with only a government to answer the old question where has all the money gone but the up side is who cares we will never know,I am English and the other half is from Monaco,it is a nice place to live better if they liked the English (don't mention the war!) Clifford

  2. Which one - the 1871 Unification or the 1990 one????

  3. This is a little tricky. it's good for the reasons that east ended it's communistic regime, people had freedom and families were reuinted. On ther other hand the reunifacation was costly. A lot of money from the west had to be invested in the east. For public works such as roads, pipesline, power lines etc, just to bring them to par with the east. Their public works was very deteriorated. Then there is the financial side of the social welfare.  All East Germans were eligable but none (especially the elderly) paid into the system prior to the reunifaction. So there is going to be a shortage of funds.

  4. one of the best things ever happend to germany ! o.k., it was and

still is very costly to bridge over the damage communism created in the former east, but hopefully soon they will all live in peace and harmony.

  5. It was good. Themselfes should be written Themselves, plural see.

  6. I am German and live in Germany. Yes, the reunification was a good idea and was necessary. The both German countries (DDR und BRD - GDR and FRG) was a relic from the WW2 and the Cold War.

After the end of communisms this both German countries had to be reunification.

Germany (and France) are guarantors for peace in Europe.
