German VAT No?

Anyone know what a german VAT no looks like? there are a million number sequences on this invoice ... i need to know fast ... is this it?

  1. Umsatzsteuer is a sort of 'turnover tax' and if it is a business to business transaction, can be claimed back until the transaction is final and then it becomes Mehrwertsteuer.  Mehrwertsteuer (Mwst) is 'more value tax', value added tax, VAT.  The number described above is the registered Umsatzsteuer identification number for the company that issued the invoice, same as the company VAT registration in UK.


  2. thats about right - German VAT is called Umsatzesteur hence the Ust.
