I was wondering with German, when you say ''Ich liebe dich'' , and ''Du und ich'' , why does the du change to dich? , and not stay du? is it the location of the word?

  1. because dich is a direct pronoun. it is not the main subject you have to do it so it makes sense. it sounds better also on the ears. french also does that. direct prnouns are mostly different than regular pronouns.

  2. I is the subject if I love you.

You and me is the subject, each is nominative.

  3. Here's a good explanation of German pronouns: http://class.georgiasouthern.edu/german/...

I think it might be that, when "you" and "I" are the main subjects of the sentence, they're "du" and "ich." But when they're not the main subjects of the sentence, they change to "dich" and "mich."

  4. Maybe because German is like that. Words change, even if they mean the same thing. Maybe because it would sound weird to say,"Dich und Ich."
