  1. The part you quote IS NOT part of the German anthem.

  2. Einigkeit und Recht und Freiheit für

    das deutsche Vaterland,

danach laßt uns alle streben brüderlich mit

    Herz und Hand.

Einigkeit und Recht und Freiheit sind

    des Glückes Unterpfand.

Blüh' im Glanze dieses Glückes, blühe

    deutsches Vaterland!

    Unity and justice and freedom

    For the German fatherland!

For these let us all strive

    Brotherly with heart and hand!

    Unity and justice and freedom

    Are the pledge of fortune;

    |: Flourish in this fortune's blessing,

      Flourish, German fatherland. :|

  5. Ihave read this link:

I have some problems with translation

"Treue" is translated with "loyality" translate it better with "truth"

"Recht" is translated with law, translate it better with right, for law and right a lot time differed in Germany. Like daffodil translated it with "justice" is more correct but for me as a german , justice is when law is obeyed --- right is when higher order is obeyed.

    Greetings from Hamburg, Germany

    Heinz

ps: higher order is --- you shall not kill. you shall not steal.

    in every form.

  8. just an important note: in Germany they never sing that part of the national anthem - "Deutschland Deutschland ueber alles" ... smile. This is not being used as the national anthem.
