In the anticipation of 2012 London Olympic Games, the German beach volleyball players are getting ready for the upcoming challenge.
The beach volleyball tournament at the Olympics is scheduled to take place from July 28 to August 9 and a total of 96 athletes from all across the world will be on board to fight for supremacy on the sand.
The Women’s Olympic Beach Volleyball Tournament will have 24 teams, which also include the German pairing of Laura Ludwig and Sara Goller. The renowned German duo is regarded as 2008 European champions. The two players have given out some wonderful performances
on the world tour and have great reputation on the court.
They have high hopes for the Olympic. However, reportedly one of the team players is dealing with a shoulder injury which has put a big question mark on the performance of German duo at the Olympics.
In this regard, Laura Ludwig recently disclosed her views. She stated, “Sara has a dragging pain in her shoulder, but she's not as young anymore as she used to be… (laughing). Yes, but it will go well in the end. And she's also a type of person who fights
it out.”
On the other hand, the men’s team of Julius Brink and Jonas Reckermann will also take part in the Olympic Games. The pair is currently ranked fifth in the world and is enjoying a fantastic form. The duo is undergoing extensive training and practice for the
upcoming SWATCH World Tour events and Olympic Games. It is likely that the German men will create huge buzz in the Olympic Games.
Speaking of the Olympics, Julius said, “It's definitely going to be the highlight of our careers. We are now both at an age, where we certainly can deliver our best performance and we're also in the physical shape for it. We have miscellaneous experiences
of the Olympics and London really is a sensational city, a great metropolis in the middle of Europe. A lot of our friends can visit us there, the expectations are high and I'm really looking forward to it.”
Before the start of Olympics, the 2012 SWATCH FIVB World is ready to be kicked off on April 15 and it will help the players to further enhance their skills. The 2012 SWATCH FIVB World Tour will cover eight events ahead of London Olympic Games.
