German coach Raul Lozano working on his team – Volleyball news
The men’s elite volleyball competition, the 2011 FIVB Volleyball World League is swiftly approaching near.
The clock is ticking down and soon the action will take centre stage. This year’s edition of FIVB Volleyball World League is scheduled to start off on May 27. A total of 16 men’s teams from around the globe will hit the podium, while operations will get
underway with the preliminary robin round. There are only two weeks left in the official opening of the championship and this is the high time that the participants of the campaign are busy making plans for the upcoming battle.
In this connection, the German head coach Raul Lozano is all focused to prepare his team for the tough encounters ahead. The 54-year-old Argentinean has been attached with German squad since 2009. He has proven to be a good mentor and brought the German
team under the spotlight. Germany qualified for the 2010 FIVB World League after six years and finished in the 9th position.
It was all result of Lozano’s efforts and visionary skills. However, the coach is up for another challenge at the 2011 FIVB World League competition. He is confident about his team-line and seems determined that his players have the potential to strike with
world’s best teams.
Speaking of the team, Lozano said, “Every time it is hard to develop. The World Championship showed most people, even us, that Germany has the best team in defence. In the past we were one of the worst teams in defence. Now we have to work on our strength
attack and block. We did not have the usual results in these areas during the World Championships. In the serve-receiving area we are not constant enough. In summary: We can improve and stabilise in every element. At the same time you have to consider, that
our opponents will continue to analyse us.”
German side will be missing two key players, Lukas Bauer and Georg Grozer in the upcoming tournament. Yet the coach has faith in young players that they would fill in the gap. He has assembled a team, which is a mix bag of experienced and young players.
Tim Broshag, Jaromir Zachrich and Christian Fromm have been included in the team-roster.
Lozano said that it is progressive change and it will help the team to improve its ranking this year. He has put enormous effort to develop the charge in young players. He surely wanted to bring a new blood to the team and now he is optimistic to crop out
good results of the young crop.
The 2011 FIVB World League will put coach’s strategic abilities to real test. Let’s wait and see how the German coach proves its endeavours at the big international gala.
