  1. No its a whole new different launguage.More hard to talk german than to learn english

  2. no/nein

  3. Both are West Germanic languages derived from a proto Germanic language. After the split, much vocabulary came into English from French, Latin, Italian, etc. but that did not change the underlying connection.

West Germanic languages include Dutch and Frisian. Less closely related are the North Germanic languages of Scandinavia.

    See Wikipedia on Germanic languages

  4. Actually, English is considered a Germanic language.

It traces its roots to the language spoken by two germanic tribes- the Angles and the Saxons- which invaded England around the 5th century AD.

Modern German is also derived from this same early language.

In many cases, nouns for common objects are very similar in English and German. (such as house/haus, bread/brot, gold/gold, red/rot, angel/engel- there are literally  thousands more)

However English grammar was also heavily influenced by the early form of French spoken by the Normans, who invaded England in the 11th century.

  5. Not really no... similar compared to Mandarin maybe but no.. not really.

  6. not at all.
