Hi! I need help translating my lasagne recipe from English into German and Metric. Can anyone please compare the original English and see if I tranlated it into German correctly please? Thanks!

Here is the recipe in English:

2 lbs ricotta cheese

1 lb shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup fresh grated pecorino romano cheese

1 cup fresh grated Asiago cheese

1 cup fresh grated parmesean cheese

2 eggs, beaten

1/2 cup milk

extra virgin olive oil

1 cup onions, finely chopped

3 garlic cloves, minced

1/2 lb sweet Italian sausage, casing removed and chopped You can add more sausage if you want - I just don't like to over-power mine or make it 'too meaty'

2 Quarts of "Dianne's Pasta & Tomato Sauce (All purpose tomato sauce for anything)" Or you could just use any sauce from a jar - but mine is better :-)

1 1/2 lbs lasagna noodles

salt and pepper

I will post my German translation in "Additional Details". Please let me know if I got it correct. Thank you!

  1. Hello, your translation sounds good. If you change the words

"zerissener and geraffelter" to "geriebener or geraspelter"

    it would sound perfect.

  2. Although an lb is exactly 454 g it won't ruin your recipe if you take a german pound (Pfund) instead which is 500 g or half a kilogram. This is my personal translation of your recipe, using the international metric system:

    2 Pfund Ricotta-Käse

    1 Pfund kleingeschnittener Mozzarella-Käse

    1/2 Pfund (cup = ca. 250 g; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cup_%28unit... ) frisch geriebener Pecorino-Romano-Käse

    1/2 Pfund geriebener Asiago-Käse

    1/2 Pfund Parmesan-Käse

    2 geschlagene Eier

    1/2 Tasse (= ca. 1/4 Liter) Milch

    Olivenöl (Extra Vergine)

    250 g feingehackte Zwiebeln

    3 feingehackte Knoblauchzehen

250 g gewürfelte "italian sausage" (I never heard about "italian sausage" outside the USA; maybe you mean ordinary Salami, but ORIGINAL Salami is mainly made of donkey's and mule's meat, although nowadays usually replaced by pork or beef); nach Belieben / Geschmack (für Fleischliebhaber auch mehr)

2 Liter (a quart is 0.946352946 litres; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quart ) Tomatensoße ["Dianne's Pasta and Tomato sauce" is unknown in Germany]

    750 g Lasagne-Nudeln

    Salz und Pfeffer
