  1. How was training

    Have you Judo training?

I find that it is not schwar black dark doesn't make sense maybe Hard or difficult?

Not sure on this last word I think it is missing the last letter do you mean schwarz?

Hope that helps and no this is NOT from a translator I did it myself.

(Daniel - I am not a native speaker only learned from my former GF and friends there over the last 18 years, I speak much better than i write or read German, your grammar is very tricky and I was trying a literal translation of the words line by line not as a whole paragraph or I would have stated it as it saying How is your Judo training Or something like that, I was going Line by line word by word and I know that in translation that can have errors to due to grammar. I learn from my mistakes and translate as best as I can and never said I was Native, this is an American section after all so I was doing my best to try and help and I do not understand the word schwar? Aber means but? SO can you see how I translated it? Maybe it was incorrect as a paragraph but it is not totally wrong either and for an American with no formal training I speak pretty darn good German, ask Hilmar he will testify, sure it is not great grammar but you can understand me well enough and that is the most important part would you not agree? I hope that helps answer your question about it and makes sense and I am glad you asked and did not scream. i am after all only trying to help.

(OK THANK you Jena for respelling the word, I would definately say difficult or hard.)

Garrety - Thanks for your support, I see you are about as well trained as I am, so so lol

Hilmar - Thank you for you kind words and support and knowing that I am trying my best and to know I was critisized by someone who translated it incorrectly also makes it even more humorous. Thank you as always for your corrections with my grammar and Yes I am learning from you! Thank.. Danke Shoen!

  2. how was the training

    have ou ever trained judo?

no, but I don't find it difficult

  3. Lisa did a good translation

Wulf and Ryan very good try don't get bothered translation is a difficult thing to be done properly.

Daniel before you strat critizising others you should learn to do a proper translation yourself! Especialy the third part is completly wrong you can't say it in English like that.

Very often a literal translation doesn't work so that is exactly the difficulty.

I know what I am talking about as that is my day to day routine beeing a professional translator and interpreter.

  4. You both are correct and I understand what you mean Wulf in your translation and yes your correct it is grammar errors that you are making but at least you are aware of them and seem to be trying to learn from them which is good. I wish you luck. I too do not speak fluent and can understand which is why I never try to translate anything for anyone.

If I was to translate it line by line and not as a paragraph like you did I would come up with

    What  was your training

Have you training the the beautiful  *shon does mean this does it not?? Judo?

Das Nicht id say is Thats nothing. Aber ich finde , but I finde, es ist nicht, it is not schwar, this is not a word I know of either so I would go with dark or black too. I get Wulfs translation, for a non native it is not bad really.

Sure I would choose a native first and I am sure he would agree, but he is trying to help which is the point of this is it not?

As a paragraph I would say as he did also. So don't be bothered by it Wulf good try!

  5. wulf ist richtig! ein mal Stern für ihn

  6. Wie war das Training - How was practise?

Hast du schon mal Judo trainiert - Have you ever tried Judo?

Das nicht, aber ich finde, es ist nicht schwer - no, but I don't think it's hard.

You cannot translate the german "training" to the english "training". In this sense, training refers to a sport and would have to be tranlasted with "practise".

The english word "training" would be more commonly used, when you , i.e., are training for a job....

  7. How was the training?

Did you (ever) do Judo ?  (jemals)

Not That, but i find its not that difficult.

    PS:

@Wulf: you must be joking, are you (Du machst wohl witze, oder was?)

    EDIT:

Sorry Wulf that was a bit over the top from me, my apologies. German is a dam hard language to learn and to speak.

  8. Kann eigentlich gar nicht mehr hinzufügen, die richtigen Antworten sind schon da...! Es sollte ab er heissen: "Wie war das training", und nicht "Wir"..

    Translations:

    -How was training?

    -Did you ever practise Judo?

-Not that/This one. But I think it's not hard.

  9. -How was the training?

    -Have you already practiced Judo?

    -I haven't.But I don't find it hard.

  10. How was youre training.

Did you have judo training before

no, but I didnt think it was hard.

Hope I was helping you with it. I'm a native german speaker, and this was the closets translation I could give you.

    Greetings from Stuttgart Germany

    Elke

  11. Try typing it into Babel Fish for a translation.

  12. WOW

I just thumbed everyone up most are all correct.

I cannot believe some one thumbed you Native Germans down! My Guess would be after reading all the comments Daniel feeling a bit ganged up on maybe? He should not though, all of us are just trying to help are we not even Daniel and the first user with all thumbs down?

    Their translations are correct though!
