German tourist held responsible for throwing banana at Brazil international Neymar Junior
English Premier League side Arsenal have confirmed that it was a German teenager who threw a banana at the Brazilian forward Neymar Junior.
The incident took place during a Brazil-Scotland match, played on Sunday, 27 March, 2011 at the Emirates Stadium. Brazilians won that game by 2-0 in which the striker scored a brace against the Scots.
The 19-year-old has been on Chelsea’s radar for quite some time now. The Metropolitan Police on the other hand did also confirm the involvement of a German tourist in the incident. There were some complains from the youngster that he was also being racially
abused but later the claims were rejected by both the Scottish Football Association and the Fans’ organisation.
There was a statement released from the Gunners which read, “After consultation with the Metropolitan Police, Arsenal Football Club can confirm that a German teenage tourist has admitted throwing a banana onto the pitch during the Brazil vs http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Scotland-c756 international

The Police further confirmed that the youngster who threw a banana has been identified but no further action would be taken against the German tourist after all the necessary initial investigations.
“The youngster was sitting in the North http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Bank-c38601 of Emirates Stadium, an area of the stadium which was occupied by the official allocation of tickets to Brazil supporters, when he threw the banana onto the pitch during the second half of the match. The Metropolitan
Police is satisfied there was no racist intent and have confirmed that no further action will be taken,” it added.
