ridiculous = lächerlich

to ridicule someone = jemanden lächerlich machen, sich über jemanden lustig machen

stupid - doof, blöd (are you sure of the spelling there... is there really an 'e' in that word?)

ridicule - der Spott (n.), verspotten (v.)

optimistic - optimistisch (spelling? is it an 'o' or an 'i'?)
