Germans eyeing Bordeaux goalkeeper Cedric Carrasso
Despite Girondins de Bordeaux’s position tumbling down, the French goalkeeper Cedric Carrasso is one of the few players in the group who have earned positive reviews in Ligue 1. The bright performances of the Frenchman have earned him interest from various
suitors, most recently the German Bundesliga.
Budesliga outfits, Schalke 04 and Bayern Munich have a keen eye on the Bordeaux goalkeeper. Les Girondins are currently located at tenth position on the points table. With no victory for them in the last six matches, their league position has come tumbling
down. Jean Tigana’s men’s last win came against AC Arles Avignon – the bottom placed team in Ligue 1.
Schalke, for the past few months, have been facing problems with the German goalkeeper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Manuel-Neuer-c23424. The German international has outgrown the club over the last couple of years and elite European clubs are seeking his signature. Should Schalke sell their
star gloves man, they will be short of reliable hands at the back. Fußball-Club have identified the 29-year-old Frenchman as the ideal replacement. Die Königsblauen, currently positioned eleventh in the league, have been struggling for consistency this season.
Despite making numerous attacking acquisitions over the summers – http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gonzalez-c15099 being the big names – they have failed to break into the top ten.
Bayern Munich, although in the league’s top five, have been struggling for a permanent goalkeeper since the retirement of legendary http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Oliver-c28477 Kahn. Impressed with the performance of the Frenchman, they have put him on their watch list and will be bidding for
the goalkeeper’s services as soon as he shows intention of leaving for pastures new.
Cedric Carrasso is, at present, third in the line for the national goalkeeper’s spot in the Laurent Blanc’s international squad. With a move to Budesliga, Carrasso might be able to skip ahead in Les Blues picking order.
Carrasso started his senior career with Olympique Marseille in 1999. In spite of the Avignon native spending nine years with the club, he could only muster 59 league appearances. Carrasso moved to Toulouse in 2008 and that is where his career really took
off. Impressed by his abilities, Les Girondins splashed 8 million Euros for his services in the summer of 2009. This might be Cedric’s first trans-nation move.
Cedric Carrasso was selected for the national team for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, but did not get the chance to defend the net for his country.
