What is it? I need to make a call there but I can't because I don't know the code that comes before the actual number...

When the number in Germany is for example 0543/12345678

then from the US call

011 49 543 12345678

011 prefix in the USA for international calls

  49 country code for germany

  543 area code in Germany (without leading 0 in this case!)

12345678  phone number
