Germany SCUBA diving?

Does anyone know of opportunities for SCUBA diving in Germany? I currrently live in the Mannheim / Heidelberg area and would love to explore in-land lake diving or mountain lakes in the Bavaria region of Germany. Switzerland and Austria might also be an interesting place to dive. Yes, I'm aware that this is lake diving, but this can be interesting as well.

  1. I think the Walchensee in Bavaria would be interesting:

  2. I know absolutley zero about diving, but I assume that the smaller lakes are more likely to be dark and muddy?

    I've found this English language forum on the internet, concerning Lake Constance:

    Please be aware that the German websites I've seen talk about restrictions concerning harbours, etc.

    AND they say that it is too dangerous to dive there for the first time without a partner who knows the lake.

    But maybe at the link I've given you you'll be able to find people who'll be able to answer questions of that kind etc.

  3. Options:(Bayern part)  Walchensee; Bodensee;

                   (Nordsee) Hemmor see

    Have fun!!!!

    I think this is in Schwetzingen or somewhere close to heidelberg and I know they take trips all the time...

  5. I dont know the exact locales but I can find them.

    My friend there now in Kiel but from Weimar originally is SCUBA diver and got her training there in Germany, so I know it is possible. I just do not know where. I would have to ask her.  If someone has not found you a place I can ask her for you.

    Check out Blues info. She usually has good information.
