Germany bratwurst question?

ok i lived in frankfurt back in the 80's when i was little and parents were in the army and i was wondering what the name of the long skinny bratwursts they have i have been told there called nuremburg brats ifso were can i get them while on my visit in october any help would be great

  1. Just go to any butcher shop. (Metzger) Every town in Germany has a Metzger.Just look at all of them,and hope you recognize the one you had.

    They have lots of German wurst.(meats).I have ordered there before.The quality is very good.


  2. We have several sorts of Bratwürste. But the ones you mentioned seem to be Thüringer Bratwurst, as you said they were long and skinny.

    The short ones sized about 1/3 of the length of the Thüringer are called Nürnberger Bratwurst.

    As we have more than 1,500 different sorts of sausages in Germany depending of in which region you are not every butcher offers all of them. So just go to a butcher and have a look around or ask them.
