  1. Skinny bratwurst, I think this is the Thueringer Bratwurst. This is east Germany.

  2. You must be talking about a Nuernberger Bratwurst. You will find them at almost every Butcher, grocery store...

All Bratwursts are good in Germany, definitely a 1000xtimes better than here in the USA.

  3. Yummy-I just had some of these the other day, and my in-laws bought them at either Aldi or Lidl.  I live in Bavaria, so check these grocery stores.

While in Germany, try a currywurst too-yummy, yum, yum, yum!  Wash it down with a Franziskaner Hefe-Weissbier if that´s available in the location you´re visiting.

  4. anywhere in germany you can find bratwurst.....and it's depends of your choices which you like to eat. You can find it in any stores....and every weekends they have open markets and you can buy fresh bratwurst from the butchers.

  5. Of course you don't actually have to go to Nürnberg to get that kind of bratwurst.  Just ask at any butcher store, or look at the grocery store, for Nürnberger Bratwurst.  They have it just about everywhere.

  6. There are a few places famous for their Bratwurst, most of all, Nuremberg, where the sausages are about the size of my ring finger. All of Thuringia (Thüringen) is also proud of its "Thüringer Rostbratwurst". But as tasty as these are, I wouldn't make that the reason for my travel planning. In any decent supermarket, or at a good butcher's, you'll be able to get a great variety of Bratwursts, often with local variations that are worth checking out.

    Guten Appetit!

  7. I totally agree with answer #2 - THE place to go for the Bratwurst would be Nürnberg! Their brats are famous and well known all over germany. But as explained in answer #2 you can buy them in many different grocery stores all over Germany.

But then again why not straight go to Nürnberg ans do some sightseing. The town is beautiful and they also have lots of museums and other interesting things to explore.

  8. In the city I lived in (Muenster, in Nordrhein-Westfalen), they had an open-air market twice a week. We found a stand that sold the bratwurst that you're talking about (I believe) and they were pretty cheap. We visited that stand nearly every week! Check out the markets if you can, they have awesome foods there and at good prices. Have fun!
