Germany national team manager Joachim Low has hailed his side ahead of the Euro 2012 qualifier against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Belgium-c2850 and claimed that there is immense competition within the side, which is surely a good sign. He insisted that there are
no guaranteed places in the team and the players who play well will surely get the nod in the European Championships next year.
Die Mannschaft have already qualified for the Championships next year and have won all the nine games played so far in the qualifying stage. The team will play their last match against Belgium on Tuesday at the Esprit Arena in
Dusseldorf in search of their tenth win in the qualifiers, for the first time in German football history.
Low claimed that there is permanent place for any player in the national side and he has said goodbye to the idea of playing the same eleven just for the sake of it. He admitted that Die Mannschaft has great depth in the squad
and every player should be prepared to perform at the highest stage.
“In Germany we must finally say 'goodbye' to the idea of 11 regular players. One can see very clearly in European football that it takes more than 11 players to compensate for injuries. As a coach, of course I favour competition.
Regular places are history,” he was quoted as saying.
The manager admitted that they are short of experienced strikers at the moment as Thomas Muller and Andre Schurrle are not natural strikers. He insisted that the only area Germany lack is the striking department as only Mario Gomez
and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Miroslav-Klose-c26049 are the available options.
“[Thomas] Muller and [Andre] Schurrle are not classic strikers. They live off constant movement. At the moment, in Germany we do not have the same type of players as [Miroslav] Klose and [Mario] Gomez who can play at a very high
level,” he concluded.
Joachim Low’s side has accumulated 27 points from the nine games played and will play their final qualifier against Belgium on Tuesday.
