Cesare Prandelli, Italian national team head coach, has stated that despite the Germans enjoying more rest, his team will take the game to Joachim Low’s men.
The Azzurri went through a long and hard battle against the English in their quarter-finals, and had to play extra time, as the match ended goalless at the conclusion of normal time. The match went to penalties, with Italy winning
the match 4-2 courtesy of a Gigi Buffon save. The decisive penalty was struck home by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alessandro-c4710 Diamanti.
The Germans will be having two more days of rest, as their victory over the Greeks was on 22nd of June, with the Italians playing England in the last quarter-final on the 24th of June. The former Fiorentina
boss is in an optimistic vein of form ahead of their match against Die Mannschaft, but concedes that tiredness might play a factor in the game.
He also reiterated that Low’s men were favourites to lift the trophy, but also stated that they were not invincible. During an interview before the semi-final tie, Prandelli was quoted to have said:
"Germany have had two days extra to recover. This is a big handicap for us. Germany are the favourites. We must prepare well in terms of the little details. We also know that we can play our own game. We must read Germany's game
well and take risks.”
The former Venezia manager went on to state that their performance against England was one built on attacking flair and courage. Prandelli has been touted to have introduced a new attack-minded ideology within the Italian setup,
which is a move away from the traditional Italian style of play.
He was talking to assembled media and he further went on to comment:
"The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 match showed we had the courage to keep playing the right way and to stick to our methods.”
He praised the work ethic and the organisation within the German squad, and mentioned:
"http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 are athletically strong but if we play well, there are no invincible sides for us."
