  1. Distance from Cologne to Dusseldorf: 20 miles - 32.18 kilometers

Distance from Cologne to Hamburg/Central: 222 miles - 357.2 kilometers

  2. I suggest www.mappy.com in the future to help you with this.  Not only will it tell you how far the drive is, but also if you input your car info and current gas prices, it lets you know how much you'll pay in fuel.  Also if there are any tolls to pay on the roads.  Very helpful, and you'll be able to quickly get these calculations yourself instead of waiting for answers on here. :-)

  3. Distance on road is

37km or 23 miles from Cologne tu Düsseldorf

425km or 265 miles from Cologne to Hamburg

The distances tonalc2 mentioned are "as the crow flies".

Considering traffic I would calculate 45 minutes to Düsseldorf and 4.5 - 5 hours to Hamburg (one way)

  4. I suggest to simply use Google Maps for route planning purposes.

Germany is densely populated, and roads are crowded. Especially in summer, there are many building sites and, therefore, traffic jams even on highways. In winter, there may be snow and icy roads. So giving any information about how long it takes to get from one city to another in terms of TIME will almost certainly be proven wrong by reality. It took me 5 1/2 hours to get from Regensburg, Bavria to Berlin, making use of the "no speed limit" rule on the Autobahn to the extent, and it took me almost twelve once due to jams and construction areas. You never can tell. If you need to be on time, fly or take a fast train. (Except for Cologne and Düsseldorf, which are almost neighbors. Take a taxi there.)

Oh, btw: Private automobiles don't pay tolls on any German road, not even on Autobahns. Trucks have to.
