  1. Actually, I though it was Finland who was famous for saunas.  Anyway, you should know that they have mixed (men and women together) saunas here, and people look at you weird if you wear a bathing suit.  They do, however, in some places have saunas just for women.

  2. yes, only naked ppl. :-)

  3. Most saunas are co-ed and you will often see entire families in them (from grandparents to small children).  But all (I would guess all, at least all that I have been to and I have been to quite a few) of the co-ed saunas have at least 1 day of the week that is for women only.

Most saunas are very nice with 2-3 different types of saunas.  1 hot/dry, 1 steam (usually with eucalyptus), and one other type (if not more than 1).  There are tanning beds available, whirlpools, and foot baths included as well.  Some of the nicer saunas have a section that is covered with UV lights to make a large tanning area.

  4. Germany has Saunas, but it is Finland who famous for them.

  5. Yes, highly recommend Baden-Baden!!!!  It is fabulous and not expensive.  You will be so relaxed!!!  Enjoy!
