win over Argentina. Germany sent 3-0 (25-21, 25-16, and 25-16) on to the board and settled for a chance to contest the 5th to 8th position matches. Argentina remained without any win in the second round and ended up with a final score
of 0-3. The match was played at the Baskent hall in Ankara, Turkey.
German Jennifer Geerties did a great job at attack and defence on the net. She clipped 15 points on successful point scoring attempts. Her team-mate Susanne Besa also contributed 15 points to Germany’s score. On the other side, Maria Sol Calvete of Argentina
put up a good effort for her team and registered seven points. However, none of the Argentinean players could go into double figures.

opponents. Besa and Lisa Izquierdo of Germany formed a good combo and enabled their team to enjoy the lead in the set. Eventually, the Argentineans tried to chase the score and came close to Germany. Nonetheless, the Germans were quick to put an end to first
set at 25-21.
In the following two sets, Germany kept the operations well under hand and scored solid points. Argentina couldn’t match its performance with Germany and dropped both sets with same score16-25.

The match was followed by official press conference of the Federation International de Volleyball (FIVB). Coaches and captains of both teams were presented to media and recorded their views about the match.
