Germany to miss out a key player at 2011 FIVB Men’s World League
There is less than one month left in the opening of 2011 FIVB Men’s World League competition. The exciting international volleyball contest is scheduled to run from May 27 to July 1.
A total of 16 countries will send their national teams to fight for honour and supremacy. Therefore, this is the high time that aspiring teams are going through extensive training and practice. Like any other team of the World League, German Men’s National
Team is also preparing for the big competition.
However, a sad news hit the block today (Wednesday, April 27, 2011) that one of the top players of German team, Georg Grozer will not be able to play at the 2011 FIVB World League. Grozer has been reported to have some serious issues with blood flow in his
right arm. His physician has prescribed two-month rest for him. Hence, it is obvious that he will not be able to play any part in the upcoming campaign.
Grozer seemed pretty unpleasant about the situation.
He stated, “Of course the diagnosis was a shock for me. I always look forward to playing for the national team. The World League always is a big deal for me and as the European Championship is this year it is an optimal preparation. I will work hard to be
back soon, my goal is the European Championship.”
In the meanwhile, the team doctor Dr Toni Kass told that Grozer will be able to resume the play in the next season.
The absence of Grozer will definitely be a big blow for German Team, which has been included in Pool B and it has tough matches in the preliminary robin round. Germany will have to deal with teams from Bulgaria, Russia, and Japan. Germany will have the big
daunting task to play against Russia especially. The resilient rivals, Russian team finished as runner-up in the previous edition of the tournament. They will certainly be going to push everyone behind, in order to get to the top this year.
The head coach of German Team Raul Lozano will be required to come up with a great plan to obtain success against competitors. Grozer, who exhibited a stellar performance at the 2010 edition of FIVB World League, will surely be missed in the competition.
