Germany’s Matthias Miller aiming for Olympic Games spot: 2012 Finn Gold Cup
Fourth day of the 2012 Finn Gold Cup did not finish according to the expectations of the participants as there were no proceedings because of the absence of winds.
The third day brought impressive sailing conditions and the fleet completed two scheduled races on time producing complete results but the fourth day did not bring any good to the fleet as well as the race committee.
Germany’s Matthias Miller is also one of those sailors who were expecting a better run in the regatta because his aim is to book a place in the 2012 Olympic Games.
No races on the fourth day of the regatta disappointed him because he had his hopes high to get back in business performing well in the fourth day proceedings.
Recently the regatta leader-board is being led by the British sailor, Ben Ainslie while Miller is placed on the 22nd position with 97 points after taking part in six races, which also includes a discard race. A good result in the regatta will
book him a place in the Olympic.
While speaking to the local media, Miller said that his regatta is going well as he is getting good results so far. He added that the strong winds on the third day brought him good results because his boat speed felt very fast. Light winds on fourth day
did not play any part because there was no race.
However, he is hoping for a positive run on the fifth day because the winds will be strong enough to have a complete sail on the Falmouth waters.
