http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steven-Gerrard-c34196 has come out and expressed his disappointment over never winning the English Premier League in his illustrious career so far. The English midfielder who is seen as a legend at Anfield in the Liverpool shirt has won
every other accolade in club football with the Reds but his medal collection still remains devoid of a Premier League winners’ medal, something that he intends to fix before retiring from club football.
Gerrard’s Liverpool came closest to winning the English Premier League title in 2009 when they finished second to Manchester United in the Premier League title race under Rafael Benitez. Since then Liverpool have undergone many
changes but there is hope at Anfield that Kenny Dalglish will bring back domestic glory to the Reds this season as the manager of Liverpool. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809’s record of 18 domestic titles was overshadowed last season when Manchester United won the Premier League
title and took their title tally to 19. In doing so, Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson cemented his team as the most successful English league side in domestic competitions.
Gerrard said in his recent interview, "It's something I think about almost every day. I always think about the dream of winning it - or the disappointment if I was never to win it. Of course, it would be hugely disappointing if
it didn't happen. To have played at Liverpool for what will, hopefully, be 14 or 15 years by the time I finish and not win it would be hugely disappointing. It would be an awful shame. But it won't be for a lack of trying. I think we'll have a really good
chance of becoming champions.”
He added that he has played in an era where there have been three to five top teams competing for the Premier League title but when Liverpool were dominant they made it look like a one horse race right from the start of the league
season. The Merseyside midfielder also said that the English Premier League is a difficult competition to win but Liverpool will continue to try and get their elusive trophy back to Anfield.
