Liverpool drew 1-1 against Aston Villa on Saturday at Anfield, to record their first point in the last four games. The Merseyside team have witnessed mixed fortunes this season, having already won the Carling Cup in February while making it into the semi-final
of the FA Cup. However, Kenny Dalglish’s side have experienced a woeful run in the Premier League, having bagged just four points out of a possible 24, in their last eight games.
Despite the appalling figures over the last couple of months, the Reds skipper remained upbeat, and was confident that his side are capable of turning things around very quickly.
He pointed out that all was not lost for the Reds this season, and urged the fans to support their team in their remaining fixtures.
"There are a lot of challenges ahead this season. I'd ask the supporters to be patient; we will get it right," he told the club's official website.
The Reds will be eyeing to redeem themselves, by winning the FA Cup this season and will take on Merseyside rivals, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 on 14th of April for a place in the final. The last time the two sides met was in a Premier League game at Anfield, which
Liverpool went on to win 3-0. Gerrard scored a hat-trick for the Reds during that game, and described it as one of the most memorable moments of his life. He was named the club’s best player of the month following his matching winning performance against Everton.
"It's always nice to be rewarded for personal achievements, but from day one I have always said it's about the team," he said.
 He expressed his resolve of pulling his side out of the pitfall this season, and insisted that playing for the team has always remained his first priority.
Liverpool will now play Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 in a league match on Tuesday, and Gerrard stressed the need for his side to up the ante in April, in order to lift their position in the league table. Inconsistency aside, he pointed out that the Reds have a squad
which is capable of beating any team in the world on their day.
“Let's hope April has many more[highlights] and that we can climb up the table and get to the FA Cup final. Although we have been inconsistent in the league we have shown we are a stronger squad and can beat anyone.”
