Liverpool’s captain, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steven-Gerrard-c34196 has gone on to hail Luis Suarez as being the best in the world, as he feels the striker has been head shoulders above most of the players out there.
The Uruguayan international went on to join the Reds in 2011, and since then, he has gone on to produce some very impressive displays for the team. The forward has been scoring the goals even when the rest of his team was finding it hard to actually win
matches.
This attitude shown by the player, coupled by his ability in front of goal seem to be all the reason that Gerrard needs to claim Suarez to be one of the best players out there, if not the best.
When talking about the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international is reported to have said: "For me he's been player of the year, across this league and a lot more leagues"
"There are probably only one or two people who you could say have been better than him this season.”
"How much better can he get? I'm not sure, but it's a scary thought if he does improve on how he's been performing this season."
Gerrard then turned his attention away from Suarez, as he went on to talk about Liverpool’s upcoming European fixture. The team is trailing Zenit St Petersburg by two goals to nil, and they really need to wrap things up in their second leg, if they are to
stand any chance of making it to the next round of the competition.
Despite the odds not being in their favour the Reds captain is confident that Suarez and the rest of the team will be able to produce the result that helps see them through to the next round.
"You remember top players for games like this - important goals and big performances that turn situations in your favour," Gerrard added.
"We're all there behind him as well - he's not on his own - but I'd love nothing better than for this game to be decided on a bit of magic or brilliance from him.”
"With the season he's had, I think he does deserve it."
