Chamberlain was given a surprise spot in the starting eleven for England, as the Three Lions took on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899.
During the game, the youngster went on to impress just about everyone, with his determination and willingness to give it his all.
As a result, he is now expected to retain his spot in the team, with the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Stewart-Downing-c34221 left to sit out on the bench.
Gerrard, who is captain of the England squad, seems to be happy with what he has seen so far and has admitted that he expects great things from the Arsenal forward.
When talking about Chamberlain, the Liverpool player is quoted to have said: "[We had] Young players, but good players. I think http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736 showed all those years ago that if you’re good enough you’re old enough.”
"I think Oxlade-Chamberlain showed tonight that he is good enough for this level. He has still got a lot of learning to do but playing with experienced players, he will pick that up quickly."
The England captain then went on to talk about the match, but insisted that he wasn’t going to hold anyone responsible for some of the poor decisions made on the pitch by the officials.
He continued: "We aren’t going to look for excuses. Sometimes we got decisions we didn’t deserve.”
"We aren’t going to look to the referee, we will look at our performance and analyse what we did right and what we did wrong."
Should Chamberlain continue to fit into the England squad, he could go on and become a very valuable member of the team. The attacker has already made a name for himself in the Arsenal squad and he seems to be intent on doing the same for England.
However, his rise to fame could see the likes of Downing and Walcott get sidelined and end up becoming nothing more than second half substitutes.
It is now up to Roy Hodgson to decide just what players he wants to play and what formation to use in the next few games.
