Liverpool’s seasoned campaigner, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steven-Gerrard-c34196 feels that the Reds have failed to meet the fans’ expectations in the Premier League this season, and they should have at least finished in the top four.
Kenny Dalglish’s side have witnessed a battered league campaign, and are currently sitting at the eighth spot in the league table; a disappointing feat for a club which was once considered one of the best in Europe.

Nevertheless, the Reds skipper maintained his position that his side should not be content with their domestic cup triumphs, and that it is imperative for them to improve on their league form.
"The league position isn’t good enough," he told the reporters.
“Everyone knows what we will have to address and that’s the league form. We won the League Cup but should have moved up the league and put a big fight in for the top four.”
Since their league cup triumph in February, the Reds have only won two league matches out of eight. During this period, they were beaten by Wigan Athletic and QPR, who are battling to avoid relegation from the top division.
Gerrard bemoaned his side’s inconsistency in the league, and believed that they should have done better against the weaker oppositions.
"We need more consistency. We need to be winning games against the likes of Wigan and Stoke. We are better than those teams and we haven’t shown that this year.”
Liverpool will play three league games before their FA Cup final against Chelsea. They will play host to West Bromwich Albion on Sunday, and will visit Carrow Road six days later, to take on Norwich City. The Englishman feels that it is crucial for the Reds
to build up a match winning momentum, before their FA Cup final match.
When asked to comment on the performance of the strikers, Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll in the semi-final, the 31 year particularly lauded the latter for his strong character, as he had witnessed hostile criticism from different quarters.
