“I think what did hurt was when we lost Luis [Suarez] for the games because he's one of the best players in the world.” He told while talking to reporters.
"If you lose one of the best players in the world it's going to have an effect on the team. It was the loss of the player that hurt the team the most.”
The Reds are currently involved in a mid table battle, and their challenge for a possible top four finish has all but extinguished. Gerrard bemoaned their inconsistency in the league and warned his side not to make it a habit.
