Liverpool skipper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steven-Gerrard-c34196, has called upon his team to up the ante against Norwich City on Saturday, and kick-start a winning streak.
The Anfield outfit will visit the Carrow Road with an aim of bringing to a halt their abysmal start to the campaign.
The men in red have already suffered three defeats in their first five games, which have pushed them down to the relegation zone.
After being put to the sword by the top flight EPL teams of Manchester United and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429, the English International feels that his team must bag maximum points against the weaker oppositions.
The midfielder also stressed them to make up for their poor start by building up a winning streak, and believes that their relatively easy upcoming games will provide them with a good opportunity to do that.
The Merseyside club will host Stoke City following their trip to Norwich, and will later take on bottom-ranked Reading.
Gerrard told the reporters in an interview, “We have a run of games coming up now where there are points we should be taking. But the longer it (not winning) goes on, the more difficult it is going to get, so it is important we take maximum points against
Norwich.”
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 squandered winning positions against Manchester City and Manchester United at home – a fact which Gerrard feels has mounted more pressure on the team to do well in the away games.
He said that their 1-1 draw against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light would have been deemed as impressive had they grabbed better results at home.
“Of course our start puts more pressure on us. If we had won against Manchester United and beaten City everyone would be saying about how good a result it was at Sunderland (a 1-1 draw). But because that win hasn’t come it seems as if we dropped points
at Sunderland,” he added.
Nonetheless, Liverpool will go into the match on Saturday high on confidence following their 2-1 win over West Bromwich Albion in a Capital One Cup match on Wednesday.
The Reds also boast an impressive record against the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Canaries-c38723. They emerged 3-0 victors from their last visit of Carrow Road.
