Gerros Redsox gave trainer J D Davy a reason to celebrate after winning the Night Continues At Napoleons Casino.

A very unique race by the name of the Night Continues At Napoleons Casino was held at the Sheffield racetrack on the 6th of September, 2011.
This Grade A2 race, covering the 500 meters distance on dirt, placed a total prize money of £292, out of which the winner of the race was rewarded £102, whereas the rest of the participants were given £38 each.
Among the six greyhounds who were participating in the event, trainer J D Davy’s Gerros Redsox, with his swift performance, gave a hit and won the purse.
The two-year-old, who is also known by the name of Slaneyside Epic, started his chase from trap 3.
Wearing black and white shirt, the young dog got crowded when ¼ length was left to reach the wire, but the black dog tremendously kept un running with a superb speed and overcame the troubling situation.
Leading the race till the end, the son of Royal Impact out of Shelbourne Amber covered the distance in 29.51 seconds.
Preston Phoenix, a black and white dog, who got defeated by ½ a length from Gerros Redsox, finished second for trainer E.T Parker in the race.
As the trap opened, the three-year-old dog, wearing black and orange number, had a slow start, but soon he boosted up and railed through his contenders, reaching the wire in 29.55 seconds.
Wearing black and white number, 5/2 favourite, Castlehill Dec finished third under the training of E.T Parker. Unluckily, the brindle dog got crowded at ¼ lengths, which made him reach the wire late.
Covering the 500 meter distance in 29.65 seconds, the three-year-old dog was 1 ¼ lengths behind Preston Phoenix.
Standing fourth by 2 lengths was Duckpool Lane for trainer H Crapper.
The black dog, wearing black and white stripes with red number 4, was slow initially, but later on he forced himself to maintain a perfect momentum.
The two-year-old, who was 2 lengths behind when Castlehill Dec reached the wire, finished his distance in 29.89 seconds.
Trainer B Draper’s Magna Sky stood fifth, 1 length away from Duckpool Lane.
Unfortunately, the black dog got crowded twice in the race from 1 and 2 lengths.
The four-year-old wearing red and white number covered his distance in 29.89 seconds.
The last one to reach the wire was trainer C Hopkins’s Donnas Gift, covering the distance in 30.21 seconds.
The 5/1 favourite, black and white dog, got crowded, which made him 4 lengths behind Magna Sky.
The star of the show, Gerros Redsox, was lucky enough to win the purse of £102 for trainer J D Davy, while rest of his contenders were given £38 each.
