Gervinho admits to Arsenal’s downfall, but hopes to help reclaim former glory
Ivory Coast international and former Lille forward, Gervinho has finally gone to complete his long awaited arrival to the Emirates. With the player having penned down on the last bits of paperwork, he is now officially an Arsenal player.
However, almost immediately after joining the club, the forward went on to admit that he had been following the Gunners for numerous years now. He also went on to add that the six year drought, is something that shouldn’t be overlooked. At the same time, Gervinho stated that he is willing to help aid the team go all the way this time around and is looking forward to having a highly impressive season for the Gunners.
When talking about the team, Gervinho is quoted to have said:"I have always followed Arsenal in the Premier League"
"At some points they were really good, but also had some difficulties like a lot of big clubs do. They did not finish in the position they wanted and sometimes seasons like that happen, but we all know the potential of this team and hopefully we will do better next season."
Gervinho then went on to state that joining the Gunners wasn’t only going to be beneficial for him, but would also in a way help the team out.
The Ivory Coast international, then went on to add: "I came here because I believe that he can improve my game and help me reach another level, but the most important thing for me is that I bring a lot to the team for whom I am playing."

Nonetheless, what the Gunners seemed to lack in recent years, apart from a solid defensive line and a decent keeper, was a striker, who could play out the whole season without getting injured. With Gervinho now entering the picture, the team now has a whole new dimension which they can try and utilize and hopefully, this would help prove to be just what the team were lacking, as it helps them overcome their trophy drought.
