Gervinho confirms his imminent move to Arsenal – Premier League Update
Lille forward and Ivory Coast international, Gervinho has gone on to confirm that he is going to be arriving at the Emirates in the near future.
Despite helping Lille go on to secure a league and cup double last season, the forward has expressed his desire to play for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429. The striker stated that he wanted to continue playing the high paced, fluid football which he has been playing for so long
and as a result, he stated that Arsenal were the obvious choice for him.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gervinho-c14755 is quoted to have said:"I chose Arsenal because it's a young group within which I will be able to integrate easily"
"I could develop more over there. There are only a few details left to sort out.”
The player was then asked if he was risking his career by moving to the Emirates, considering the Gunners were on a six year trophy-less run.
Gervinho replied to those questions by stating: "A risk? Not at all. I'm going to Arsenal to play. The best risk to take is to look to score goals and to play a lot.”
"In football you have to take risks if you want to win. I'm going to Arsenal to win.”
"I had no hesitation. None. But in a transfer there's always a period of analysis and negotiations. All sides had to be satisfied so that things could develop smoothly.”
From the way things are shaping up, it seems like Arsenal might finally be getting their hands on a signing, before the pre-season tour starts. The Gunners were being linked with a move for Gervinho for well over a month, but, due to neither side actually
confirming his transfer, many thought it was not going to happen. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore, as we have heard directly from the horse’s mouth this time around.
Should Gervinho arrive at the club, they would be able to induce a new sense of pace, while going forward. The Gunners already have ample wingers who are more than capable of causing havoc in the opposing half, but with Gervinho soon to be added to the mix,
Arsenal are bound to be as lethal as they have ever been.
Gervinho is going to be able to play off, of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380, meaning the Dutchman won’t be alone in front of goal for the team any more.
All in all, Gervinho’s arrival could prove to be a stroke of genius for the team.
