  1. i am diabetic and have had a healthy baby, i know its hard to control what you eat, but its a relatively short time to sacrifice to have a healthy baby, if you have high blood sugars you can and will do damage to your unborn child, high blood sugars can cause still births, they can cause heart problems, they can cause your baby to have breathing problems when born because high sugars inhibit lung maturation, and if your sugars are high, your baby is getting too much sugar as well so when your baby is born its pancreas will be used to producing a lot of insulin to deal with your high sugars and the baby can have severe hypoglycemia causing it to be in the NICU, your baby can also grow way too big if your sugars are high, when you have a craving think of everything that could happen to your baby if you continue to have high sugars and that should deter you, it did me

  2. Try this.  Before you eat, drink several glasses of water.  Then eat until you are satisfied, do not eat until you are full.  You are also better off eating small meals with snacks (a piece of fruit) in-between.  Finally, if you are allowed to exercise, do so.  walking is nice in that you can stop and rest just about anytime and you can turn around and walk home if you feel you are reaching your limit.  Finally, do not eat anything big after 8PM, go with a snack if you need to.

  3. With both my pregnancies, they were gestational. I found out that if I ate something small every 2 hours with a hot cup of herbal tea or iced herbal tea, I was no longer hungry all the time. As a bedtime snack, I ate 1/2 a peanut butter on toast sandwich first followed by 1/2 a turkey OR a 1/2 a cheese sandwich, with 4 oz of low fat milk. That carried me over till the next morning. My morning sugars would usually be @ 105-115. There is something good @ protien snacks.
