  1. The major foreign exchange programs in the world are AFS, YFU and Rotary International. I believe all three operate in New Zealand and "exchange" with about 50 other countries -- each!

You should check with your school counselor (if you have one) or school administrator. Chances are you have exchange students in your school and you might consider the programs they came on!

    Good luck!

  2. I did an exchange with YFU, Youth for Understanding.  I did not speak German, but was able to have an intensive language course in Germany before moving in with my host paretns.   The programs works with people all over the world and many countries do not have language requirements.  Although I would say it is worth it to try and learn a new one - and learning on exchange is far better than from a book.

  3. What about fun Spain?

YFU has an amazing program called culture and language exchange in the beautiful beach resort called Santander. It really is worth it and even if you don´t speak Spanish to begin, you will learn it during your participation in this fantastic program. The ton of activities and excursions included in this program is out of this world and a fun and exciting time is guaranteed. You could request to be placed in a host family that speaks a bit of English or maybe you and your friends could be paired up so that you can help one another.

I believe you can have access to this program directly through their web site www.beautifulspain.com, possibly for a  lower cost.
