Get Stormy vying for a repeat win in the Maker’s 46 Mile
Kip Deville is the only horse, who has been able to turn in a repeat win in the Grade 1 Maker’s 46 Mile back in the 2007-08 season, but Sullimar Stables owned 6 year-old horse, Get Stormy has the chance to become the second repeat winning of the Grade 1,

Get Stormy has been around for quite some time now, and the veteran horse has amassed a whopping $1.5 million in career earnings, and has gone on to land three graded stakes wins.
Trained by Thomas M. Bush, Get Stormy is the Kentucky Bred son of Stormy Atlantic, out of mare Foolish Gal by Kiri’s Clown. Get Stormy has already raced in the new season, and the veteran runner came out of the race as a victor.
He landed the Grade 1 Gulfstream Park Turf Handicap on 11 February, 2012, under jockey Ramon Dominguez. Over a distance of 1 1/8 mile on turf, Get Stormy kept plugging away in the stretch as he finally found some room to make his bid towards the wire.
Pegging back Hollinger in second and Big Blue Kitten in third, Get Stormy went all the way to clock the 1 1/8 mile distance in 1 minute and 52.78 seconds.
Last year after winning the Grade 1 Maker’s 46 Mile, Get Stormy bagged the Grade 1 Woodford Reserve Turf Classic at Churchill Downs.
Get Stormy will carry the high weight 123 pounds and will break from post number 5 in a field of 7, 4-year-old and above colts and geldings.
The 120 second high weight, Turallure, will be Get Stormy’s biggest threat in achieving the Maker’s 46 Mile double. Donna Arnold’s 5-year-old Turallure has yet make his seasonal debut, was last seen finishing second to winner Court Vision in the Grade 1
Breeders’ Cup Mile on turf last fall at Churchill Downs.
Last year Turallure finished a dismal eighth in the Grade 1 Maker’s 46 Mile to Get Stormy, but took his revenge in the Grade 2 Bernard Baruch Stakes at Saratoga when he downed Get Stormy by a narrow margin to win the Saratoga feature that day.
