Get Stormy’s brilliant career not quite over as he is ready for more success
Trainer Thomas Bush seems to have a star in his stable and he is coming back for more in the Grade 2 Fourstardave Handicap at Saratoga on 11th August, 2012. Yes we’re talking about the one and only, Get Stormy.
The older division runner has some impressive credentials with an overall record of 11-5-3 in 30. With earnings worth $1,556,812, he seems to have done it all, but he is not finished yet.
Owned by Sullimar Stables, he has competed twice in the Grade 2 Bernard Baruch Stakes at Saratoga. In 2010, he defeated the Richard Dutrow trained, National Kid, and completed the 1 1/8 mile race in 1 minute and 46.70 seconds.
When he returned to defend his title, he couldn’t quite do it but finished as a runner-up to the Charles Lopresti trained, Turallure, who clocked in 1 minute and 48.75 seconds.
Whelped on 28th April, 2006, his sophomore campaign was quite the success.
He secured a brilliant victory in the 1 mile Grade 3 Bryan Station Stakes at Keeneland on 18th October, 2009, after participating in several maidens and Allowance Optional Claimers.
He went on to win the Grade 3 Commonwealth Turf Stakes at Churchill Downs and the Elkwood Stakes at Monmouth Park.
Both the Commonwealth and Elkwood covered 1 1/16 miles, which proved that he was versatile enough to take on all kinds of distances.

He claimed the Grade 2 Fourstardave Handicap in this campaign, which covered 1 1/16 miles along with the Bernard Baruch.
Things turned sour for him after that, since he failed to secure even a placed position in the Shadwell Turf Mile, the Breeders' Cup Mile and the Fort Lauderdale at Gulfstream Park, which served as his seasonal debut for his campaign as a four-year-old.
The son Stormy Atlantic, out of mare Foolish Gal, got over his little setback, and was back on top in the same season. He claimed the Grade 1 Maker's Mark Mile and the Grade 1 Woodford Reserve Turf Classic.
In 2012, the Kentucky bred runner came back with a bang when he scored in the Grade 1 Gulfstream Park Turf Handicap.
Since then, he has competed in three more starts, but yet to post a victory. With the hope of securing another victory in the Fourstardave Handicap, Get Stormy is on a mission to prove himself.
