Is there a way of getting a list of which are my largest files / folders / directories?

Or software that can find out for me?

I need to know how I'm using up like 80% of my hard drive space...

  1. well if you have xp or newer you can check in your disk management. you can also check the c drive properties (that will only give you the amount of space used.) Try running a dfrag on your computer.. this help your computer report the space a little better... oh yea windows does take a large amount of disk space, and if you have ms office your taking up a large amount of space.. this does not include the updates you run with windows..  that will take even more space

  2. Hi,

    Have you tried folder size?

    http://foldersize.sourceforge.net/

Folder Size for Windows adds a new column to the Details view in Windows Explorer. The new column shows not only the size of files, but also the size of folders. It keeps track of which folders you view, and scans them in the background so you can see complete size of all files within the folder. It's very useful for cleaning up your disk. Once you get used to having that information available, a directory listing simply looks incomplete without it!

    Good luck!
