Question:

Get a job with dreadlocks

I'm 33 years old male and I have 3 years old dreadlocks. I recently moved to Fort Worth area and I ready to search a job in manufacturing or utilities plant as a Industrial Mechanic. Dreadlocks can be a problem to be hire in that kind of job or in this city????

  1. Dreads are never a problem when they are contained.

    I am in the Northeast however, and Texas may be different.


  2. Don't know. But establish your priorities if it comes to it. If it comes down to it, which is more important? Your hair and what it means to you or feeding and housing your family?

  3. I'm in NYC and I have locs and haven't had a problem with interviewing.  However, it does depend on your industry.  As long as your appearance is neat it shouldn't be  a problem.  When going on interviews you should put your hair up so that it's not a distraction.
