Get a visa in london?

My boyfriend and I are planning to get married here in the US this December. He is english. I want to join him in the UK after were married. I heard that you can fly to the UK and get a visa in London without going through the Spouse entry visa c**p. Is it true?

no, it is not true,

you will have to apply for a spouse visa, trough the embassy of the UK in the US, before going to the UK,
