Get back history on computers

Question

i had an AIM instant message, and i accidently Xed out before i got to read it. i know that in computers, once something is on it, it is in the memory or data base forever. so is there a way to check the memory of what was on my screen. i really want to see what the IM said, and the person isnt online anymore. i hate when i do this, it makes me so mad. lol thanks for anyone who helps

there is really no way to go back, since that data is stored on RAM and never made it to ur hard drive.

Go to 'Edit' then 'Settings' and there should be a tab that says 'IM Logging', copy the information given next to 'store logs' and paste it on to search under START on your desktop if you have Windows

No way to go back. To prevent this from happening again, get something called a chat logger. It saves all your chats on your pc so you can read it.
