Get concert tickets last minute?

Question

i'm trying to find tickets for a show at first midwest amphitheatre and it's basically sold out and the only way i can get decent tickets is to shell out 700 dollars. i was wondering if it's true ticket master releases tickets before the show or you can go down to the venue before? or should i get it from scalpers at the show?
