  1. lots of running and sprints (until you cant run anymore). push ups and situps (for balance), frog jumps (for jumping), and footwork excercises. All of that combined and done daily will result in a VERY fit athlete

  2. go crunches

something for your things like bending up and down

    strengthen your arms

  3. 1. Cardio is very importaint-you have to move to the ball alot!!!  Try running a mile every other day...if you can't do that start lower and eventually work up to that.

    2. You have to have strong arms to serve and hit- 15 push ups in the morning and 15 at night

    3. In volleyball you are bent (accept when hitting) so do plenty of squats to build those thigh muscles so you're not tired when you're on the court.

    4. The best way to get in shape is to play plenty

I hope this helps! Good luck if you're going out for a team:)

  4. Buy a volleyball.  If you have a friend that you can work out with, it would be better.  Even if they are not a volleyball player, they can help you work out.

Practice every day.  Not almost every day.  EVERY DAY.

Running distances will help with your overall condition, but sprints and jumping are more important.

If you have access to water, work out in the pool.  Get about chest deep in the water and crouch down.  Jump as high as you can.  Do about 10 and then take a short break.  Do another 10.  Try to do 100 total jumps.  The water will act as resistance and as a cushion for your landing.

If you do have access to water, swim.  The crawl stroke is fairly similar to your spike/overhand serve swing.  Again, the water will act as resistance to strengthen your arms and shoulders.  If you try to swim for long periods of time and/or very quickly, it will help with your overall conditioning.

    Good luck.

  5. I play so trust me! Practice your settings against the house our have someone throw it up in the air and then u set it back. Also, u have to be good at getting from 1 place to the other and fast. Put a row of 6 stakes in a row, 1ft from each other. Time yourself to see how long it takes you the weave in and out. Try and get it down to 3-4 seconds. As to serving, make a line on the side of your house or garage door with tape or whatever and servie it overhand or underhand over the line.

As to finding out the rules, go to the library and check and see if they have a book called, "Volleyball For Dummies"

  6. you could try running a few laps

also you need to have like some arm strenght to serve so you might wanna start lifting weights.

you could also practice with you friends or you could practice serving you underhand and overhead or something like that i forget the names.

  7. keeping to a trained regimine is key in this case you must find a set of activities for each day of the week and stick to it.

Mondays- lift weights focusing on the legs: leg curls, extensions, leg press, Ect.

Tuesdays- Running: time yourself on the mile or some distance on a track

Wensdays: Weights: focus on arms: bench press, dumbells, ect.

Thursdays: Running: time short distance runs

Friday: Jump training: tuck jumps (knees to the chest), squat jumps (feet to butt) box jumps, jump rope

Also keeping to a healthy diet would hellp also.

This is just some of the things I have to do for college so I hope it will help you! Good Luck

  8. My volleyball coaches always stress swimming and jumping rope. Swimming laps in the pool will increase your metabolism and prepare you for volleyball conditioning. Jumping rope will whip you into shape quickly because you have to have a lot of endurance for it.

In volleyball you use your abdominal muscles a lot, so begin to do crunches every day. Try 50 normal ones, and side crunches. Abdominal muscles help your speed and strength with spiking and serving.

  9. I play volley ball at school and this is some of the drill i use.

    1. run 1 mile once a week

2.do 5 mini sets in a row witch are sets that don't leave your finger tips

3.Make sure your over hand serve is good that's one of the most things coaches look for try doing the motions of serving in the mirror to see if you are doing it right

    4. get on a city league

    5. see if there is any open gyms around where you live

    6.ppractice practice practice

7.look for other people who like volley ball and ractice with them

    8.have fun and work hard

    9.having counts the most
