What should i do. I'm a smalltown australian girl who is the last child left at home living with her parents. My sister lives in canberra (major city) and offered me a room in her house to stay with her and go to school in canberra. Should i go to NIDA (national institute of drama and acting) And become a movie star like i want to be? Or stay in this hole of a town with less than 1000 people and get an average job and live on a farm.

  1. duh! i think you already know! go to the drama and acting thing!....if possible not in canberra....ewwww politics

  2. I don't get it canberra is like 5 hours from NIDA and how old are you? but anyway if you can I would definatley go to NIDA (you'll see me their all the time lol, nida is my second home) and follow your dreams!

  3. Follow your dreams and go to NIDA. I know it is an extremely good school and you should do it. I left home at 16 to go to drama school in a different country and have never looked back. You will make so many new friends and have a blast.

  4. You already know what you want to do. You're just looking for reassurance to confirm it. If you don't do it you will be wondering what would have happened if...for the rest of your life. GO FOR IT and GOOD LUCK!

  5. get out of the town.

  6. Get out of that small town, Canberra has lots of opportunity. NIDA however is in Sydney, so living in Canberra won't help you there its a 4 hr drive from Canberra to Sydney.

  7. You're the only one who can get you out of the hole you're in.

If you want to move then move.

You have been given an opportunity many people would give their right arm to have.

Don't look back in 10 years time and say "I wish I had......"

Going forward and changing your life can be scary but it's totally worth the effort.

If you find you don't like the change, move back to "the hole".

Like the NT tourism television ad says, "You'll never, never know, if you never, never go!"

Good luck what ever you choose to do.

  8. I know it's difficult to get into NIDA and they won't accept you if you don't have talent and the potential to make it in the industry, but if you can gain acceptance, go for it and follow your dream.

Someone (can't recall who) once said that on their deathbed, no-one ever regrets the things they did - they regret the things they didn't do.

  9. Follow your Dreams. Although there is no guarantee you will become a movie star. There's a lot more invovled than this dream . There can be heartache and dissapointment. Never the less if you try hard and have a back up plan then who knows. Also a large town or city can be a lonely place. The older one gets the harder to make friends. Everyone is busy doing their own thing. But most important in life is your happiness, so work on that but keep wise and remember those who love you. . goodluck
