  1. Go to Start > Run > msconfig

    Click on the StartUp Tab

Uncheck the box for AIM like things.  If they are named funky, just look for things in the AIM directory.

These are all the things that start when your computer boots and why it takes so darn long!

  2. Try going to tools on the tool bar and clicking options. There you should find a preferences tab and uncheck "run at windows start".(or something similar to this)

  3. Go to Start>Run, and type "msconfig." Then click the "Startup" tab, unclick the applications you don't want running on startup and when done click "Apply" once you exit out it will ask if you want to restart, you dont have to if you dont want. But, next time you startup it should popup that someting was changed in msconfig, just check the box to not show this message again and click ok. But be VERY CAREFUL when unchecking items, make sure your unchecking items you dont want running on startup like IE, AIM, AOL, etc.
