Get rid of cigarette smoke smell in dog's travel water dish?

How can i get rid of cigarette smoke smell that is in a collapsible dog water dish made of some kind of water resistant fabric? My sister is a trucker and had this on her truck for months. She is a heavy smoker and this thing reeks of cigarette smoke even after I washed it in plain water. I don't want to use anything that might leave a chemical residue behind and contaminate my dog's drinking water or make them not want to drink from the bowl. Any ideas????

i don't know of a thing.. i always just replaced the things that smelled too badly.. sorry.. wish i could do more..

just buy a new collapsible dog dish.

you can find them at like camping stores.

You should go to your local carpet cleaners and ask them for a fabric cleaner that is highly potent, it may be a chemical substance but it will be the most effective. Your sister should probably quit cigarettes too if shes a trucker and gets bored on the road she should smoke a J.

CUT UP LEMON AND PUT THEM IN THE BOWL WITH WATER AND WARM IT IN THE MICROWAVE.

OR REPLACE IT REGULARLY.
