  1. Well, it may not even be dandruff it could be skin flakes from being burned.

Does the shampoo you have have aloa vera? If not i would get some of that.

Also just try another shampoo, i havent seen any that helps get rid of dandruff just make sure you spend about five minutes yes five minutes rinsing her off.

  2. My horse also has danndruff and hes a bay so you can see it in his mane and forelock pretty bad up close. i use Head and Shoulders dandruff shampoo on him. You have to scrub there crest pretty well too get it out. Also, be sure to rinse well.

  3. If it's in her mane/tail, try listerine ( the orange/yellow one).  You can also bath her wiht head and shoulders shampoo ( traditional or citrus scented). the third thing is MTG ( mane tail groom), but this make the hair/fur oily looking, and it can cause sunburn if the horse is turned out alot.. so put it on @ night.

You cna try Mane n Tail shampoo and condtioner too

hope you can get rid of those flakes :)

  4. Try the Listerine!  It always worked great to get rid of dandruff for pony club inspections.  I never tried it on a lot, though.    Just pour it in, rub with your fingers, let it soak a few minutes if you want, then rinse.

  5. You could ask someone in the barn, or just anyone for their opinion. If you are positive that it is dandruff. I don't really know much like where it is. If it is in the girth area, try using a neoprene girth. They feel a lot better on the horse and reduce chaffing a lot. For the body area try switching to a different shampoo or a moisturizing shampoo. There are special ones for main and tail. The other people have great answers too. Like sunburn. Just make sure you're not giving your pony a bath too much or not enough. And make sure you do regular brushing. It could have something to do with his/her coat. GOOD LUCK!!:)

  6. You can use human shampoo for dandruff like head n shoulders. it works on my friends horse

  7. head n shoulders human shampoo will work if it is just dandruff.  Also, use Cowboy magic as a conditioner.  If these don't work, keep investigating...but it usually does the trick.  Try just using it in a bucket of warm water, and rinsing with the hose to minimize the time under the hose.  but don't do it at all if you won't be able to thoroughly rinse it. Also, you shouldn't do it often...it just dries the skin more and makes it worse.

  8. Try a good curry comb every day and wash the pony in a beta dean once a week you could also try rugging the pony to keep insects and weather of the skin to help it heal.

  9. Use shampoo and bathe her... get a horse shampoo like Mane'N Tail... or a natural horse shampoo.
