Get rid of the Accent?

Question

I have accent and i want to get rid of it, can anybody give me the links of the websites where i can find the books, softwares, video and audio CD's "tested" that will help me to get rid of my accent.

I need tested-trusted sources.

while i am a fan of accents of all kinds, i also can relate to wanting to reduce one's accent due to career or socializing.  the proven method is using the compton p-esl program which is based out of san francisco, california.  speech-language pathologists from all over the country have been certified by this program and can be located using this link:  http://www.800language.com/pages/content...

it is an intense program which can be used in an one-on-one setting, as well as small groups.  it is commonly used in the silicoln valley within the dot.com and tech corporations who commonly have employees hired from asia with thick accents.  while you *could* possibly use the program by yourself, i would highly recommend seeking out a speech-language pathologist (using the link) to find one specifically trained in this program to get you on your way.  depending on how serious you are in improving, you may only need a month of speech therapy.

Why would you want to get rid of your accent?  Isn't that what makes you unique and individual?  If you are still determined, I would suggest looking up speech therapists in the yellow pages of your phone book...

accents are cool. they make you unique and they show individuality!

Pimsleur language programs are for learning languages but they really enforce pronunciation. it's pretty good.

I thought this was the Special Ed section?  what does this have to do with Special Ed?  do you have a mental or physical disability?  accents are not a disability
