Question:

Get rid of the Food and Drug Administration?

Honestly, why do we need the FDA? It's a bureaucracy that holds up the process. It delays the release of valuable medications that could save lives. Doesn't this cause more deaths than what they save by regulating the drug and keeping it off the market? The FDA is succeptable to manipulation by special interests, this prevents competition and allows the FDA to determine which companies get their drugs to the market place. On top of all that, doesn't it cost a great deal of money to get drugs passed, increasing the costs consumers pay. With a judicial system to hold companies accountable, why don't we get rid of the FDA... Your thoughts...

  1. THEY CONTROL U.  YEAH LETS LOVE THE FDA, FEDERAL RESERVE, ADA, AND OTHER FUN LOVING ORGANIZATIONS THAT WANT TO TAKE FROM YOU...I THOUGHT YOU LIVED FREE IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

  2. The problem I have with the FDA is that they allow all this bullshit in our food. A lot of countries that you wouldnt even believe that are not even as advanced as we are dont allow their citizen to eat half this c**p. So much pesticides and chemicals that are known to cause cancer but they allow for it do to lobbying and special interests. Unsafe practices and d**n right disgusting practices especially in the meat and dairy industry.

  3. Keep it. We need it. Big pharma would run us over if it wasn't for the FDA.

  4. Its all in the plan!! and look how much meds, the sell!!! I agree its a racket all right, all the govt is a racket anymore, I am sure it was set up to be for the people, but now its against the people, all the way!!!

  5. I don't think getting rid of the FDA is the answer. I think the more appropriate choice would be to start holding these organizations accountable for their actions.  You have made several valid points. My biggest concern is why aren't our tax dollars being spent in a more responsible manner. Why are their so many nonprofit organizations doing the work of the government?

  6. So you seriously want our marketplace to be a big free-for-all where anyone can sell anything they want and call it whatever they want?  How many people would die from an unsafe medicine before word would get out and people would stop buying it?  And how easy would it be for companies to avoid punishment through our insanely slow judicial system?  I seriously hope this is a joke.

  7. I agree.

And why do so many vitamins, herbal remedies, and holistic medications have fine print that says:

"* these statements have not been substantiated by the FDA."

Lets go people GET TO WORK!  I've been buying Milk Thistle & Tea Tree Oil for 10 years now and the FDA still hasn't done any research on wheather they work or not???  What DO they Do over there???

FDA do your job and get some of these Holistic sugar Pills and Herbal Erection drops off the shelves!

  8. This is an awful idea.  The reason that the FDA was created in the first place was because the market had become filled with ineffective and dangerous drugs.  It is the responsibility of the FDA to ensure that all drugs sold in the US are both safe and effective and I for one think that is a really good thing.  Yes, it does cost a lot of money to bring a drug to market but most of the money is spent on proving that a drug is both safe and effective, reducing or eliminating testing requirements would certainly mean that the consumer would pay less for drugs and it would also guarantee that dangerous drugs will be sold.  As to the judicial system keeping the drug companies honest I would say that that is a possibility but that it is only after you have suffered damage that you can sue.  I prefer an ounce or prevention to a horrible death.
