I am getting married to the love of my life, she is in Australia and i currently in USA... we plan on getting married as soon as i get in Australia within the first 5 months... my question is I going there with a long-term tourist visa which allows me in Australia up to 12 months, but we plan on livening in Australia so after we get married, i am applying for the Partner visa (since we will be married couple) what are the chances i would be granted the visa? And also the visa is for a permit stay and able to work in Australia, is that correct?

  1. You wont have any trouble at all getting  a residency visa as long as your partner is an Australian citizen.

Have a look at this website,it will give you all the information that you are looking, advise you which visa you should apply for,and all the forms you will need for your visa.

    Take care.
